Hacia 2007, durante mi adolescencia, apareció el BMX en mi vida y marcó un antes y después. Cambié las aulas por la calle y empecé a viajar, montar y salir de fiesta con mi nueva familia, éramos la pura adaptación de KIDS de Larry Clark en la Barcelona de los pitillos y Nasty Mondays. Fue entonces cuando le pedí a mi padre su cámara y empecé a hacer fotos y vídeos de BMX.
No fue hasta 2016 cuando entré a trabajar en Laser, donde me empapé de cosas por las que antes nunca me había interesado: el arte, la cultura del streetwear y la fotografía analógica. Empecé a tontear con esta última haciendo fotos de mis amigos y de mi día a día, y cada vez que tiraba un rollo tenía más claro que quería hacer eso todos los días de mi vida. La sensación de no poder visualizar la foto al momento, pero saber que acaba de tirar un fotón, no se puede comparar a ningún otro placer.
Poco después, me mudé a Madrid para probar en el mundo de la fotografía de moda y cursé un máster en fotografía de moda y publicidad. Toda esa experiencia acumulada durante los años y la técnica aprendida durante el máster han hecho que hoy día sepa representar lo que quiero en mi fotografía: mi vida, los escenarios de extrarradio donde montábamos y la estética de los 2000 que tanto marcaron mi infancia. Todo esto lo hago desde el más profundo amor a la fotografía y hacia la estética, intentando escapar de la superficialidad.
Around 2007, during my teenage years, BMX appeared in my life and it set a before and after. I switch the classrooms for the streets and started traveling, riding and going out with my new family, we were like the Larry Clark KIDS in skinny jeans and Nasty Mondays in Barcelona. It wasn’t until then that I asked my dad his camera and started shooting and making BMX videos.
In 2016 I started working at Laser and I started gaining interest for things I never cared before: Art, culture, streetwear and analog photography. I started playing around with this last one and shooting pictures of my friends and daily life and every time I finished a roll I was more certain that I wanted to do this everyday of my life. The feeling of not being able to see the picture in that same moment and knowing you just shot an amazing picture, it can’t compare to any other feeling.
After a while I moved to Madrid to try and learn in the fashion photography business and I started a MA in advertising and fashion photography. All this experience throughout the years and the technique made possible that with photography I can express what matters to me: My life, the outskirts surroundings where we used to ride and the 2000s that highlighted my childhood. Everything I do is from the very deep love for photography and for aesthetics, trying to stay away from superficiality.
