Nuwe Spelreëls is a mixtape of the artist Downites for Laser Radio.
Laser Radio is the newest project of Laser Bcn a clothing brand from Barcelona that is in constant contact with the local culture. Their identity mostly grows through collaborations with of all kinds of disciplines: illustration, graphic design, screen printing, music, including sports such as biking, skateboarding, surf and even restaurants, cafes. In the case of Laser Radio we want to give DJ's, musicians and artists of our surrounding a space and create collaborations that fill our everyday with great music.
For this second edition we collaborated with Downites, a resident DJ for Trill parties in Razzmatazz club. Nuew Spelreëls is the name of the mixtape he did for us and it is pure afrobeat to dance non stop from start to finish.
Nuwe Spelreëls it is about the not so old west african music genre Afrobeat. This compilation scans down what’s hot on this hybric music genre between hip hop, dance and R&B. Paying special attention to nigerian producers such as Mr Eazi, Bruna Boy and Skales.
In this second edition, we collaborated with Marc Sans aka Downites, who is a digital digger and a keen explorer of the R&B and hip hop avant-garde universe. His DJ sets range from synthetic funk to new wave beats, including avant-garde soul or rap - be it golden era or experimental rap - all together in total harmony. Such styles and sounds are a part of the 'Trill' and 'Fuego' parties, where he's one of the resident DJs.

Laser Radio es el proyecto más reciente de Laser Bcn, una marca de ropa de Barcelona que está en constante contacto con la cultura local. Su identidad se nutre y crece a través de colaboraciones con todo tipo de disciplinas: Ilustración, diseño gráfico, serigrafía, música, incluyendo deportes como bici, skate, surf, como también restaurantes y cafés. Con este proyecto de Laser Radio, quisimos dar visibilidad a DJ's, músicos y artistas de nuestro alrededor y crear colaboraciones que llenen nuestro día a día de increíble música.
Para esta segunda edición, hemos colaborado con Marc Sans aka Downites, un digital digger e incisivo explorador del universo R&B y hip hop avantgarde en su tiempo libre. En sus sesiones conviven en total armonía el funk sintético, los beats de última generación, el soul de vanguardia y el rap, ya sea el que bebe de la época dorada como aquel menos convencional. Estilos y sonidos que forman parte de las fiestas Trill y Fuego en las que es DJ residente.
Nuwe Spelreëls está basado en el genero musical afrobeat, procedente de Nigeria. Esta compilación escanea el sonido que está en auge sobre este género músical, el cual hace participe a varios estilos como el hip hop, dance y R&B. Prestando especial atención a los productores nigerianos como Mr Eazi, Bruna Boy o Skales.
