It’s been 8 years since I spent Summer in NYC for an internship, shooting film all day and getting inspiration from the city to project in Laser.
Living in Brooklyn and studying in Manhattan was the best excuse to explore and show my favorite places to you*
Here’s a few pictures that remind me of that great beginning back in 2011 :)
I was 14 when my dad gave me his favorite camera, an Olympus OM10.
My first ollie, wave and graffiti were never captured on film but I always kept the camera with me.
Since then I started shooting film and looked at everything around me with a different point of view. I wanted to tell stories with my pictures.
So Laser Camera Club started as my desire to put all these friends who share the passion for film cameras together.
When I met Raquel in 2010 I immediately asked her to do our very first shooting called "Laser lifestyle"
A combinating between our daily life and things that inspire us. And the best thing was that she introduced me to 'filmswap', which consists of shooting a roll of film and then giving it to someone else to shoot on top, getting a super random, totally unexpected but (almost always) amazing double exposure.
Here's the final result of some of those pictures, where we mixed Barcelona and New York, giving the name of our first Camera Club zine that we published three years ago.
After some time thinking about making the next one, it's now time to move on, so stay tuned for our next Laser Camera Club publication!

Hace ya 8 años que me mudé a Nueva York a estudiar durante el verano. Me pasaba todos mis ratos libres haciendo fotos y cogiendo inspiración de la ciudad para proyectar en Laser.
Vivir en Brooklyn y estudiar en Manhattan era la excusa perfecta para explorar y enseñaros mis sítios favoritos.
Aquí tenéis un resumen de algunas imagenes que me recuerdan ese bonito comienzo de la marca en 2011 :)
Tenía 14 años cuando mi padre me regaló su cámara favorita, una Olympus OM10.
Mi primer ollie, coger una ola o mi primer graffiti no han quedado grabados en pelicula, pero siempre llevaba la cámara conmigo.
A partir del momento en que empecé a disparar, mi punto de vista cambió, quería poder contar historias con mis fotos.
Años más tarde tuve la idea de crear el Laser Camera Club, para así poder compartir esa pasión por las cámaras analógicas con todos mis amigos que tengo repartidos por el globo.
Cuando conocí a Raquel en el 2010, inmediatamente le pedí que hiciera nuestro primer shooting "Laser lifestyle", una combinación de nuestro día a día y de todo lo que nos inspiraba.
Una de las cosas que me enseñó por ese entonces fue el 'filmswap', que consiste en disparar un carrete y al acabarlo, darlo a otra persona para que dispare por encima, resultando en una doble exposición aleatória, totalmente impredecible, y que (casi siempre) acaba de una forma genial.
Aquí os dejo el resultado de algunas de esas fotos, en las que unimos las ciudades de Barcelona y Nueva York, partiendo de inspiración para la primera edición del Camera Club, que publicamos hace tres años.
Después de mucho tiempo pensando sobre el próximo numero, ha llegado el momento de seguir, así que estad atentos a la próxima edición!
